Cinco de Mayo Weekend in Bakersfield, CA

Bakersfield Budo – Isshinkan Dojo is honored to host Carl Long Kyoshi, Soshihan of the Kokusai Nippon Budo Kai for a THREE DAY Gasshuku beginning Friday, May 3rd through Sunday, May 5th.

This Gasshuku promises an ambitious schedule of the Japanese Sword Arts maintained by the KNBK! We are planning to cover Shindo Muso Ryu Jojutsu and the accompanying Kasumi Shinto Ryu Kenjutsu, Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu and the Ono-ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu! Shinza (grading) will be held for eligible KNBK members as well as non-graded evaluations for members wishing to grade at a later date.

This will be Long Kyoshi’s first visit to Bakersfield Budo and a great opportunity for all KNBK members to share in a great three days of training, enjoy each others company and learn from the head of our organization!

Long Kyoshi serves as the Chairman of the Kokusai Nippon Budo Kai and is the designated successor of Shimabukuro Masayuki Hidenobu, the 21st Generation Inheritor of our line of Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu Iaijutsu.

Long Kyoshi is Hombu-cho of the KNBK Intl. Hombu Dojo and is also the Kenshoin (Inspector/Advisor) of Iaido and Batto-do for the International Division of the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, the oldest martial arts governing organization in Japan.

Long Kyoshi holds the grades of 8th Dan, Shorin-ryu Karate-do; 7th Dan, Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu Iaijutsu; 6th Dan, Shito-ryu Karate-do; 5th Dan, Shindo Muso-ryu Jojutsu; and dan grades in Aikido and Kobudo.
